The group covers single agonists such as semaglutide and liraglutide, dual agonists such as tirzepatide, mazdutide and survodutide, a triple agonist (retatrutide) and an amylin analogue (cagrilintide). In the laboratory they are used as reference ligands for receptor pharmacology: binding, cAMP signalling, biased agonism, receptor selectivity and structure determination.

Most members share design features that matter for analysis. They are 29 to 39 residues long, many replace alanine with α-aminoisobutyric acid (Aib) to resist enzymatic cleavage, and several carry a fatty acid or fatty diacid side chain that binds serum albumin. These parts are non-standard, so the identity of a batch cannot be checked from the amino acid letters alone.
